People who use bank ATM (automated teller machine) cards need to take additional counsel to save their income from augmenting ATM fraudsters.

This follows augmenting cases of people losing their income to people who repel their accounts dry.

Philip Odera, a Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Uganda says some people  have shaping gadgets that record your PIN and other information when we are during an ATM.

He says they also have a label reader that gets your sum on your card. Odera says they make cards matching to yours and repel your money…

He is appealing to bank business to change their PIN series as frequently as probable and defense with your palm when we enter a PIN during an ATM.

Odera also says it is critical to memorise your PIN never write it down.

According to Wincor Nixdorf Survey

Majority of consumers would switch banks to get more secure ATMs

Wincor Nixdorf, one of the world’s leading providers of IT solutions and services to retailers and retail banks, announced that, according to its recent survey, consumers are largely unaware of major security threats at their ATMs – but would switch banks if another institution demonstrated that it provided more secure ATMs.

The study polled the knowledge, preferences and trends around ATM security of consumers based in the United States. The survey revealed that, despite an overwhelming concern about ATM fraud, the majority of consumers are unaware of popular fraud tactics, such as ATM card skimming. Skimming causes $350,000 in monetary losses each day and is occurring five times more frequently this year than ever before, according to the Secret Service.

MANILA, Philippines – The Bankers Association of the Philippines reminded the public to be more careful when using of automated teller machines (ATM), after the a new scam was uncovered.
The scam involves capturing the stored personal identification number (PIN), card number, and other relevant information by skimming the magnetic strip of the ATM card using a specialized scanner. The captured information is then copied to produce a duplicate ATM card, allowing the scammers to make withdrawals without the card holder’s knowledge.
