2 group arrested for suspected loansharking activities

The military have arrested dual group for assisting loansharks with their operations.

The initial suspect, a 37-year-old man, was nabbed by officers from Jurong Police Division on Thursday. On him were 3 programmed teller appurtenance (ATM) cards and one mobile phone. Investigations showed that he is a debtor-turned-runner who carried out account transfers and collected ATM cards from other debtors who had non-stop bank accounts for a loansharks.

The second arrested male is 35 years aged and was found to have helped a loanshark connect money collected from other runners. One mobile phone and $15,000 found on him during a detain during Kranji MRT hire were seized
